Hi, I’m Cindy, owner and chief worker-bee at DETAILS SimplyDone. I help Silver Entrepreneurs launch their Second Act, because I know it’s been percolating for a long time. You’re passionate about your work and anxious to move forward, but I’m guessing you’re probably also frustrated with all the details, right? I can help you fix that! 🙂
I build websites for startups because I know what it’s like to try to get your name out there on a startup budget. There’s no question you need a website, but you probably don’t need a big fancy one right now. You need a website that’s beautiful, announces your presence, tells your story, and dances with your personality. I can do that for you!
I can also show you other systems and resources (many are free!) that will support you, help you handle the details, and give you direction as you grow. On top of that, I’ll be your biggest supporter and loudest cheerleader.
Why Do I Do This?
I started DETAILS SimplyDone for several reasons. In the beginning, it was a side hustle, but I’m not sure which was more important: supplementing my income from a dreary, dead-end job or finding something that would provide direction and value to someone else. I needed a creative escape from the 9-5 drudgery, no question about it, and I knew I had a lot of expertise to offer. But that whole idea was just plain scary! I didn’t believe anyone would ever pay for that expertise. (That’s called Imposter Syndrome — believing your work has no value and believing no one will EVER think it’s valuable. It’s what Corporate America has done to many of us!)
I took class after class, read until the wee hours of the night, and surfed the web day after day, looking for validation of the skills I had. For a long time, it was still too scary, too overwhelming to try. “There are so many details . . . there’s so much paperwork . . . the taxes . . . the techie stuff . . . this isn’t valuable to anyone else . . . and on and on and on.” I heard it. I said it. I believed it.
Then, one day — “Ping” — it was an email requesting a consultation. Really? I mean, REALLY????? Two days later, someone asked me to build a blog AND a simple database for their contact list. Hmmm . . . well, maybe . . . . Baby steps, yes. But you gotta start somewhere, right?
I’m telling you all this because I don’t think it’s a singular mindset. I believe it’s as pervasive as the common cold, and it delays (and sometimes prevents) many small businesses from ever getting off the ground. Does any of this sound familiar? Ignore the voices — don’t let self-doubt win! You’ve got this!
So, that’s why I’m here – to lend a helping hand and some business expertise to another struggling savvy and sassy woman who’s ready for her Second Act.
I’d love to work with you, but I’m betting you’d like to know more about me first, right? OK – here goes . . .
I like everything techie, including systems and spreadsheets. (Yeah – kinda geeky, I know!)
Building websites feeds the geek side of me AND the creative side. (YAY — win-win!!!)
Give me some checklists or forms to design or an Excel challenge, and I’m happy for hours. (Yep, I told you. Geeky!)
I’m a small business owner just like you, so I totally get the need to have systems in place.
I’m also a former wedding planner, so organization is my jam. And, I can change direction on a dime.
I did the corporate-world thing for a long time, but it was impossible to sustain enthusiasm, joy or creativity, and it was an ongoing challenge NOT to become negative-Nelly.
I have a B.S. in Business Management, with a focus on Corporate Communications. When I decided it was time to leave Corporate America, it just seemed a natural fit to use my skills to help a struggling entrepreneur.
Cindy built a blog for me to share some of my written materials with family, friends, and other interested people. She has the skills to tailor your website/blog to meet your needs and serve your purpose. Her instructions were clear, and she is skillful, attentive to detail, and well-versed in building a user-friendly website/blog. Cindy’s assistance in administering the site is invaluable: I can make simple edits, upload new content, refer interested readers, and respond to comments. I love having a blog and thank you for making that possible. Thank you so much. Joy Duke, writer, www.joyduke.com
I needed a website and Cindy was able to help me get it off the ground with ease! Thank you Cindy! Deni Van http://heartfeltawakening.com/
Come on — let’s build that website and get your business out there. The world is waiting!
Some other (little) things you might like to know about me:
Fall is my favorite season – the colors, the crisp air, and crunchy tart apples.
I LOVE my morning coffee. (And I must admit that not much gets done before that mug of happiness appears in my hand!)
I’m a bit of a language nerd. (There may or may not have been a few occasions when I heard someone call me the “grammar police.”) But, I really do try to keep my comments about this to myself. At least most of the time. (Sometimes I yell at the TV, though — sssh!)
I’m a little bit addicted to HGTV. (Property Brothers — oh yes!)
My heart belongs to two little ones who are beautiful, kind, and oh-so-smart — but also kinda loud, sometimes messy, and just a tad sassy. I freely admit that I’m a pawn and pushover for their mischief, but what’s not to love when mixed with happy grins, chubby hugs, and sticky kisses? I’m blessed that their visits are frequent (but not nearly often enough). They add a HUGE dimension and brilliant sparkle to my life!
I’m a life-long learner and challenge myself with classes, seminars, and workshops. I just love the variety of skills that can be learned online — there’s always something new to discover.
